Prof. Dr. Harry von Piekartz PhD, MSc., B.PT, MNVMT Senior IMTA Teacher
Harry qualified as a physiotherapist in 1985 and completed his manual therapy training in Switzerland (Manual Therapy Maitland Concept) in 1988. In 1993 he successfully completed his OMT training in the Netherlands with the Dutch Manual Therapy Association (NVMT). In 1994 Harry qualified as a teacher with International Maitland Teacher Association (IMTA) and was made Senior Teacher in 2002. In 2000 he completed his Master of Science in physiotherapy at the University of Leuven (Belgium) on the subject "The neurodynamic test of the mandibular nerve, reliability and normal values". Harry is also a member of the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (NOI). His main interest is the patient with difficult head and neck problems. His book "Craniofacial Dysfunction and Pain, Manual Therapy, Assessment and Management " has been published in English (Butterworth-Heinemann 2001), German (Thieme 2001) and Spanish (2003). In 2002 he was one of the main initiators of the Cranial Facial Therapy Academy (CRAFTA®). In March (2004) he became Fellow of the International College of CranioMandibular Orthopedics(ICCMO) in Germany.
Currently published a second book titled "Kiefer-, Gesichts- und Nackenregion. Untersuchung, Behandlung und Management (Thieme2005) which will also be on the english market in 2006. During this period he published several articles about this subject and is involved in a study in paediatric headache and finished his PhD in July 2005. Since 2000 he has spent 50% of his time teaching in different countries in Europe, 30 % working with patients and 20 % in research
